What is a Marrakech and Agadir holiday?
It is two very different places on one booking. Marrakech is the city: the medina, the souks, the square of Jemaa el-Fnaa and the gardens, seen from a riad — a traditional house built around a courtyard. Agadir is the coast: a long sandy beach on the Atlantic, a seafront promenade and a marina, and a resort where the meals and drinks are included.
The order is the point. The medina is busy and absorbing, and three nights there is enough to see it properly. Then a private taxi takes you south-west to the coast in approximately three hours, and the last four nights are the beach. Your flights are open-jaw — out to Marrakech, home from Agadir — so you never travel back to where you started.
How much does a Marrakech holiday cost?
These are our lead-in prices per person, based on two sharing, for the seven-night holiday with return flights from London. Your exact price depends on your dates, availability and any options you add, and is confirmed in writing before you pay.

The whole year sits within £200 per person. The lowest price is £499pp, for departures from 1 to 15 December; later December dates are priced when you enquire. January follows at £519pp and November at £529pp. July is the dearest month, at £699pp, and October the next, at £679pp. August and September are not in the current price list — ask us for those dates.
The cheapest months are also the coolest, and that is the trade-off to weigh.
When is the best time to go to Marrakech?
Marrakech and Agadir are only a few hours apart, but they have different climates: the city is inland and swings from cool winters to fierce summers, while the coast stays mild all year. These are official averages from the World Meteorological Organization, supplied by Morocco’s Direction de la Météorologie Nationale — the Marrakech and Agadir Inezganne stations, 1991–2020.
| Month | Marrakech high / low | Marrakech rain | Agadir high / low | Agadir rain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January | 19.1°C / 5.9°C | 25.0mm, 5 days | 21.1°C / 8.4°C | 31.6mm, 4 days |
| February | 20.7°C / 7.6°C | 25.7mm, 6 days | 22.0°C / 10.2°C | 28.6mm, 4 days |
| March | 23.6°C / 10.3°C | 35.3mm, 6 days | 23.4°C / 12.3°C | 31.3mm, 5 days |

| June | 33.6°C / 17.9°C | 3.1mm, 2 days | 25.6°C / 18.1°C | 0.8mm, 2 days |
| July | 37.7°C / 20.6°C | 2.2mm, 2 days | 26.7°C / 19.2°C | 0.2mm, 1 day |
| August | 37.4°C / 21.1°C | 4.7mm, 2 days | 27.0°C / 19.5°C | 3.1mm, 2 days |
| September | 32.5°C / 18.6°C | 15.2mm, 3 days | 26.1°C / 18.6°C | 3.7mm, 2 days |
| October | 28.5°C / 15.7°C | 19.1mm, 4 days | 26.1°C / 16.7°C | 21.2mm, 3 days |
| November | 23.1°C / 10.7°C | 29.8mm, 5 days | 24.1°C / 12.9°C | 42.3mm, 4 days |
| December | 20.2°C / 7.3°C | 24.2mm, 6 days | 22.1°C / 10.1°C | 47.4mm, 6 days |
For warmth without the heat, go in spring. March and April are comfortable for walking the medina, at 23.6°C and 25.7°C in Marrakech, for £549pp and £639pp. May is warmer, at 29.4°C in Marrakech and 24.2°C in Agadir, and at £599pp it is £40 less than April and drier than April in both places, on both rain days and rainfall.
For the lowest price, go in winter — and pack for cool evenings. From November to February, Agadir is the warmer of the two by day and by night. Marrakech’s January averages a high of 19.1°C and a low of 5.9°C, the coolest month of the year on both counts, so a riad courtyard after dark calls for a jumper. December is Agadir’s wettest month on both measures, with 47.4mm over six rain days.
In high summer, the coast is the reason to go. July is Marrakech’s hottest month, at 37.7°C, and the dearest to book. Agadir is 11.0°C cooler by day, at 26.7°C, and has its least rain of the year: 0.2mm on one rain day. If summer is when you can travel, the four coastal nights are the comfortable half of the holiday.
October, at £679pp, is warm in both places — 28.5°C in Marrakech and 26.1°C in Agadir — but it is the second-dearest month.
Marrakech: three nights in a riad
You stay at a four-star riad such as Riad Infinity Sea & Spa, or similar, with breakfast. Breakfast only is deliberate here: the evenings belong to Jemaa el-Fnaa, which comes alive after dark, and to the restaurants of the medina.
Three nights gives you two full days. One goes to the medina — the souks, then Bahia Palace — and the other to Majorelle Garden, with its blue villa and cactus beds, which is the calm counterpoint to the lanes. Or use the second day for an Atlas Mountains tour, for mountain scenery and Berber villages outside the city; it is optional and costs extra.
Agadir: four nights all-inclusive
On the fourth day a private taxi takes you to the coast, where you stay at a four-star beachfront resort such as the Amadil Ocean Club, or similar, all inclusive — meals and drinks under the resort’s own all-inclusive terms. Agadir’s long sandy beach, the seafront promenade and the marina are there when you want them; the pool is there when you do not.
So if you want an all-inclusive Marrakech holiday, this is how it works: the all-inclusive nights are on the coast, and the city nights are breakfast only.
What is not included
Four things to plan for:
- Checked luggage. The price includes one small hand bag per person. A checked (hold) bag costs extra, so tell us when you enquire and it is priced in.
- Airport transfers. The private taxi from Marrakech to Agadir is included; the transfers from Marrakech airport to your riad, and from your resort to Agadir airport, are not.
- Excursions, including the Atlas Mountains tour.
- Travel insurance, which you should arrange when you book.
Do you need a visa for Morocco?
No. British citizens can visit Morocco without a visa for up to 90 days as a tourist. Three things to check before you go:
- Passport. It must have an expiry date at least three months after the date you arrive, and it must not be damaged.
- Entry stamp. Border officials should stamp your passport when you arrive. Make sure they do: some travellers without one have had difficulty leaving the country.
- Money. Foreign currency worth 100,000 Moroccan dirham or more — around £8,000 — must be declared when you enter or leave.
That is GOV.UK’s guidance, checked on 25 September 2026. Check the latest official requirements before you travel, as they can change.
Marrakech and Agadir, or Istanbul and Antalya?
Both put a city first and an all-inclusive beach second, with the city nights on breakfast.
| Marrakech & Agadir | Istanbul & Antalya | |
|---|---|---|
| Nights | 7 — 3 city, 4 beach | 10 — 3 city, 7 beach |
| From | £499pp | £699pp |
| Cheapest month | December (1–15), then January | January and February |
| Choose it if… | You want a shorter trip and a riad in the medina | You want a full week on the beach |
Who is a Marrakech holiday for — and who should look elsewhere?
It suits anyone who wants a city with real character and a proper rest afterwards on the same trip; couples and friends who are happy to travel light; and anyone looking for sun at a price in the winter months, as long as cool evenings in Marrakech are not a problem.
It is less suited to anyone who needs checked luggage and does not want to pay for it, anyone who wants every meal included for the whole week — the Marrakech nights are breakfast only — and anyone who finds crowded markets hard work, since the medina is at the heart of the city half.
