The experience

Turkey in detail

Quick answer

A holiday to Turkey costs from £699 per person, based on two people sharing. That covers 10 nights, breakfast in istanbul, all-inclusive in antalya and return flights from London. January 2027 is the cheapest departure currently on sale. Secure it with £99pp and pay the balance nearer the time. Every holiday we sell is ATOL 10713 protected.

What is the Istanbul and all-inclusive Antalya holiday, and what does it cost?

It is ten nights in Turkey: three in Istanbul at a 4★ hotel with breakfast, then seven at a 4★ resort on the coast at Antalya on an all-inclusive basis. Return flights between London and Istanbul are included, and so is the domestic flight from Istanbul to Antalya. The advertised lead-in price is £699pp based on two sharing, for January and February 2027; August is the dearest month at £999pp. Your exact price depends on dates, availability, room category and any options you add. It suits couples and friends who want a great city and a proper beach week in one trip. British visitors need no visa for Turkey, and every booking is ATOL protected under licence 10713.

Why pair Istanbul with Antalya?

Because they are two different holidays that sit comfortably in one country. Istanbul is the city — Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace and the Bosphorus between Europe and Asia — and it asks a lot of your feet. Antalya is the reward: the Turkish Riviera, a resort, and a week where meals and drinks are already paid for.

The order matters. City first, while you are fresh; beach last, so the holiday ends on a sunbed rather than in a queue. The domestic flight is included, so the move south takes a morning rather than a day of logistics.

The board follows the same thinking. In Istanbul you have breakfast and nothing else, which is right for a city where eating out is half the point. On the coast, all inclusive removes the tab for the week.

Is three nights in Istanbul and seven in Antalya the right split?

For a first visit, yes. Three nights in Istanbul give you two full days: one for Sultanahmet, where Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque face each other across the square, and one for Topkapi Palace and an afternoon on the Bosphorus. It is enough to see the city’s headline sights without the trip becoming a city break with a beach attached.

Seven nights on the coast is the length at which a beach stay becomes a holiday rather than a stopover. If Istanbul is the part you care about most, an extra city night can be priced on request, and your consultant confirms the figure in writing before you commit.

How much does the Istanbul and Antalya holiday cost?

The advertised lead-in price is £699pp based on two sharing, for January and February 2027. March and November are £749pp; October, December and April are £799pp; May is £849pp; June and September are £899pp; July is £949pp; and August is the dearest at £999pp.

Read that list with the weather beside it, because the price follows the beach season. The two cheapest months are winter on the Turkish coast, and the summer months cost up to £300 more per person than January. What the price buys stays the same all year: both sets of flights, three Istanbul nights with breakfast, and seven all-inclusive nights on the coast. Airport transfers, optional excursions and travel insurance are not included, and we can quote transfers or excursions if you would like them arranged.

When is the best time to go to Istanbul and Antalya?

These are the World Meteorological Organization’s official averages for both cities, 1929–2000, supplied by the Turkish State Meteorological Service.

Month Istanbul average high Antalya average high Antalya rain days Antalya rainfall
January 8.7°C 14.9°C 12.6 232.4mm
April 16.5°C 21.2°C 6.4 46.2mm
May 21.4°C 25.4°C 5.3 30.0mm
July 28.4°C 33.8°C 0.6 2.2mm
August 28.5°C 33.7°C 0.7 2.5mm
October 20.1°C 26.4°C 5.8 67.7mm
December 11.1°C 16.7°C 12.3 263.3mm

The cheapest months are not beach months. In January Antalya averages 14.9°C, and winter is its wettest season — 232.4mm of rain in January and 263.3mm in December. At £699pp the winter departures are a good-value way to see Istanbul with a quiet coastal stay afterwards, but they are not a sunbathing holiday, and we would rather you knew that before you booked.

October is the value pick for beach weather. Antalya still averages 26.4°C, Istanbul a comfortable 20.1°C for sightseeing, and the holiday costs £799pp — £200 less than August. May is the spring equivalent: Antalya 25.4°C, Istanbul 21.4°C, £849pp, £150 less than August.

July and August are the heat. Antalya averages over 33°C with barely a rain day, and Istanbul is around 28°C and humid. They are the peak months for price, and they suit people who want guaranteed sun above all else.

Our Turkey holidays guide sets all twelve months’ prices against the weather in both cities, with rainfall as well as rain days, and covers the passport and money rules to check before you go.

Who is this holiday for — and who should look elsewhere?

It suits couples and friends who want culture and a beach in one booking; first-time visitors to Turkey who want Istanbul without giving up a beach week; and anyone who likes the simplicity of all inclusive once the sightseeing is done.

It is less suited to anyone who wants beach weather in winter — for that, look at our winter sun holidays instead. If you want Istanbul in depth, three nights is a taste and a longer city stay is worth pricing. And if you want a city and an island further afield, our Dubai and all-inclusive Maldives holiday follows the same city-then-beach shape.

How does it compare with other city-and-beach holidays?

Holiday Nights City Beach Choose it if…
Istanbul & All-Inclusive Antalya 10 Istanbul, 3 nights Antalya, 7 nights all inclusive You want Europe-to-Asia history and a Mediterranean beach week
Marrakech & All-Inclusive Agadir 7 Marrakech, 3 nights Agadir, 4 nights all inclusive You want a shorter trip with the souks and the Atlantic coast
Dubai & All-Inclusive Maldives 10 Dubai, 3 nights Maldives, 7 nights all inclusive You want a long-haul island and a modern city

If you are weighing up a Mediterranean beach more broadly, our comparison of Greece and Spain and our advice on getting the best all-inclusive deal are useful background.

What are the three nights in Istanbul like?

You stay at a 4★ hotel such as Ramada Istanbul Old City or similar, with breakfast. The first day is the arrival. The second is Sultanahmet, the historic centre, where Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque face each other across the square; GOV.UK advises dressing modestly when you visit a mosque, so plan the day’s clothes around it, and check the visiting arrangements on the day.

The third day is Topkapi Palace, the seat of the Ottoman sultans, and then the Bosphorus, the strait that divides Europe from Asia. A Bosphorus cruise is the classic way to see it; it is optional and paid locally. Airport transfers are not included, so plan how you will reach the hotel on arrival, or ask us to quote a private transfer.

What is the all-inclusive week in Antalya like?

You fly south on the included domestic flight and stay seven nights at a 4★ all-inclusive resort such as Miracle Resort or similar. Meals and drinks at the resort are covered under its all-inclusive terms, and your consultant confirms exactly what those terms include for your hotel in writing before you pay.

The days are yours. If you want to leave the resort once, Kaleiçi — Antalya’s walled old town and harbour — is the natural half-day out; excursions are optional and paid locally. For more resort holidays where meals and drinks are covered, see our all-inclusive holidays and beach holidays.

What do you need to know before you travel to Turkey?

  • Visa. None for tourism. GOV.UK says British citizens can visit Turkey without a visa for up to 90 days in any 180-day period.
  • Passport. It must have an expiry date at least 150 days after the date you arrive, and at least one blank page.
  • Time. Turkey is three hours ahead of the UK in winter and two hours ahead during British Summer Time, because it keeps the same time all year.
  • Currency. The Turkish lira. Cards are widely accepted in Istanbul and at resorts; carry some cash for markets and tips.
  • Transfers and insurance. Neither is included; we can quote transfers, and travel insurance should be arranged when you book.

Entry rules are GOV.UK’s guidance, checked on 25 September 2026. Check the latest official requirements before you travel, as they can change.

How do you book, and how are you protected?

Tell us your dates, your departure airport and who is travelling, and your consultant will confirm a live price, the hotels and the payment schedule in writing before you commit. The package is protected under ATOL 10713, and you receive an ATOL Certificate setting out what is covered. ATOL protects the money you pay if a travel company fails; it is not travel insurance, which you should arrange separately. Frequently asked questions

The lead-in price is £699 per person, based on two sharing, for ten nights including return flights between London and Istanbul, the domestic flight to Antalya, three nights in Istanbul with breakfast and seven all-inclusive nights in Antalya. That price applies in January and February 2027. August is the dearest month at £999 per person.

Return flights between London and Istanbul, the domestic flight from Istanbul to Antalya, three nights at a 4★ Istanbul hotel such as Ramada Istanbul Old City or similar with breakfast, and seven nights at a 4★ Antalya resort such as Miracle Resort or similar on an all-inclusive basis. ATOL 10713 protection covers the package.

Optional excursions — including a Bosphorus cruise — airport transfers and travel insurance are not included. In Istanbul, lunches and dinners are your own, because the city stay is on a breakfast basis. We can quote transfers or excursions if you would like them arranged before you travel.

No. GOV.UK says British citizens can visit Turkey without a visa for tourism for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. Your passport must have an expiry date at least 150 days after the date you arrive, and at least one blank page. Check GOV.UK close to travel, as rules can change.

Not for most people. Antalya’s official average high is 14.9°C in January and 15.4°C in February, and winter is its wettest season, with 232mm of rain in January. The £699 winter price buys a good-value city break in Istanbul and a quiet coastal stay, not a beach holiday. For beach weather, travel between May and October.

May and October are the best balance of weather and price. In May, Antalya averages 25.4°C and Istanbul 21.4°C, for £849 per person. In October, Antalya averages 26.4°C and Istanbul 20.1°C, for £799 — £200 less than August. July and August are the hottest months and the most expensive.

January and February 2027, at £699 per person. They are the cheapest because they are winter on the Turkish coast: Antalya averages around 15°C and it is the wettest time of year there. For beach weather at a lower price, October at £799 is the better choice.

August 2027, at £999 per person, followed by July at £949. These are the peak summer months, when Antalya averages 33.8°C and rain is almost unheard of — 0.6 rain days in July. Istanbul is hot too, at around 28°C, so plan sightseeing for mornings and evenings.

Because the city is the part of the trip that needs energy. Three nights of Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapi Palace are best done fresh, and the week that follows is all-inclusive beach time — the natural way to end a holiday. The included domestic flight makes the move south a morning’s journey.

For the headline sights, yes. Three nights give you two full days: one for Sultanahmet, where Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque face each other, and one for Topkapi Palace and a Bosphorus cruise. Istanbul could fill a fortnight, so if the city is your priority, ask us to price an extra night.

In Istanbul, a 4★ hotel such as Ramada Istanbul Old City or similar, with breakfast. In Antalya, a 4★ all-inclusive resort such as Miracle Resort or similar. Hotels are named as examples of the standard; if a particular property matters to you, tell us when you enquire and we will price it directly.

Meals and drinks at the resort for the seven Antalya nights, under the resort’s all-inclusive terms. Your consultant confirms exactly what those terms cover for your hotel in writing before you pay, including any items the resort charges separately, so there is nothing to discover on arrival.

No. The package includes the flights and the hotels, but not transfers between the airports and your hotels in Istanbul or Antalya. We can quote private transfers for both ends if you would rather have them arranged before you travel.

No. A Bosphorus cruise is the classic Istanbul afternoon — the strait separates Europe from Asia — but it is an optional excursion, paid locally or arranged in advance on request. It fits naturally on the third day, after Topkapi Palace.

GOV.UK advises dressing modestly when visiting a mosque or religious shrine in Turkey, and both are places of worship as well as sights. Plan a full day for Sultanahmet, where the two face each other across the square, and check the visiting arrangements on the day, as they can change.

Turkey is three hours ahead of the UK in winter and two hours ahead during British Summer Time, because Turkey stays on the same time all year. The change is small enough that jet lag is rarely an issue on a ten-night trip.

The Turkish lira. Cards are widely accepted in Istanbul and at resorts, but carry some cash for markets, small cafés and tips. With all-inclusive terms in Antalya, most of your spending there will be on optional excursions and anything outside the resort’s all-inclusive list.

Warm rather than extreme. The official average high is 28.4°C in July and 28.5°C in August. It is humid on the Bosphorus, though, and the old city involves a lot of walking and queuing in the sun, so start early and save the hottest hours for indoor sights.

Yes. It combines one of the world’s great cities with a week of beach time where meals and drinks are already paid for, which suits couples who want both culture and rest without organising two separate trips. Tell us about any occasion when you enquire.

A beach-only holiday gives you more resort time, but you would miss Istanbul — and a separate city break would mean another set of flights. This package puts both in one booking, with the domestic flight included, for the price of a single ticket from London.

Yes. The package is protected under ATOL 10713, and you receive an ATOL Certificate setting out what is covered. ATOL protects the money you pay if a travel company fails; it is not travel insurance, which is not included and which you should arrange when you book.

Yes. Three nights in Istanbul and seven in Antalya is the package, and a different balance — an extra city night, or a longer beach stay — can be priced on request. Your consultant confirms the price and the hotels in writing before you commit.
