The experience

Singapore & Bali in detail

Quick answer

A holiday to Singapore & Bali costs from £1,089 per person, based on two people sharing. That covers 7 or 10 nights and return flights from London. October 2026 is the cheapest departure currently on sale. Secure it with £99pp and pay the balance nearer the time. Every holiday we sell is ATOL 10713 protected.

Why combine Singapore with Bali?

The two are a natural pair because they are opposites. Singapore is dense, immaculate and easy — a city you can cover on foot and by metro, where nothing goes wrong and everything is open late. Bali is the reverse: spread out, green, slow, and better the less you schedule. Doing one after the other gives you a city break and a beach holiday without paying for two long-haul trips.

The practical argument is just as strong. Singapore sits almost directly on the route from the UK to Bali, so stopping there costs you very little in flying time and breaks up what would otherwise be around sixteen hours in the air. You arrive in Bali rested rather than wrecked.

How many nights should you spend in each?

Three nights in Singapore is the sweet spot, and it is what the package is built around. That gives you two full days — enough for Gardens by the Bay, a hawker centre dinner or two, the Botanic Gardens and an evening in the old shophouse districts — without running out of things you actually want to do. Singapore rewards a short, sharp visit.

Bali needs longer because moving around it is slow. Four nights works if you stay in one area. Seven is better, and it is what most people choose on this itinerary, because it lets you split your time between somewhere inland and somewhere on the coast without spending half the holiday in a car.

That is why the package runs as 7 or 10 nights: three in Singapore, then four or seven in Bali. If you only have a week, take the 7-night version and stay in one part of Bali. If you have the time, the extra three nights are the ones you will remember.

Which way round should you travel?

Singapore first, almost always. You land after a long overnight flight into the easiest city in Asia to arrive in — the airport is fast, the taxis are metered, and you can be checked in and showered within an hour of landing. Then you finish in Bali, which is where you actually want to be unwinding before you fly home.

Doing it the other way means ending a beach holiday with a city stopover, which most people regret. We will build it in reverse if you prefer, but this is the order we recommend.

How much does a Singapore and Bali holiday cost?

The package starts, down from £1,280pp, including return flights from London, three nights in Singapore at the V Hotel Lavender or similar 4★, your Bali stay, and full ATOL protection. It can be held with a £99pp deposit.

Prices move with the season. June is the cheapest month. July and August sit mid-range, September drops back again, and December is the peak. January and February sit mid-range. The monthly calendar shows live pricing date by date.

Budget separately for food and transport. Singapore is the expensive half — though hawker centres are outstanding and cost very little — while Bali is inexpensive once you are there, with the exception of the smarter restaurants in Seminyak and Canggu.

When is the best time to go?

Bali sets the calendar. Its dry season runs roughly April to October, and that is when you want to be there: reliable sunshine, lower humidity, calm sea. The wet season from November to March brings heavy afternoon downpours rather than all-day rain, so it is not a write-off, but it is not what you are paying for either.

Singapore is the same year-round — hot, humid and prone to short sharp showers whenever you go — so it never dictates the timing. July and August are the busiest and priciest. May, June and September are the value months: still firmly in the dry season, noticeably cheaper.

Where to stay in Bali

Bali is not one destination, and choosing the wrong area is the most common mistake on this trip.

Seminyak is the default for a first visit — beach clubs, good restaurants, walkable, and a reliable sunset. Ubud is inland among the rice terraces, cooler and quieter, and the right choice if you want temples, walking and spas rather than sand. Nusa Dua is the resort strip: calm swimmable water, self-contained hotels, easily the best option with young children. Canggu is younger and scruffier in a way people either love or do not.

On the 10-night version, splitting Bali between Ubud and the coast is the itinerary we build most often. Tell us how you want the week to feel and we will place you accordingly.

Getting there, and getting between them

London to Singapore is roughly 13 hours non-stop, flown by British Airways, Singapore Airlines and Qantas. Singapore Changi to Denpasar is a short hop of about 2 hours 40, operated by Singapore Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Scoot and others. Total flying time is a little over 16 hours, but split across two comfortable legs rather than one long one.

Changi is the easiest major airport in the world to connect through, so the middle leg is genuinely painless. In Bali, allow properly for the drive from Denpasar: Seminyak and Nusa Dua are around 30 to 45 minutes, but Ubud can take 90 minutes or more in traffic. Transfers are not included as standard on the package — we can add private transfers at both ends, and for an Ubud stay after a long flight it is worth doing.

Prices here are based on London departures. Regional UK airports are available on request and are confirmed at enquiry.

Time difference and what it does to your first day

Singapore and Bali are on exactly the same clock — both are UTC+8, and neither changes for daylight saving. That is genuinely useful on a twin-centre: you adjust once, on arrival, and the move between the two halves costs you nothing.

Against the UK that is 8 hours ahead in winter and 7 hours ahead during British Summer Time. In practice an evening flight from London lands in Singapore around lunchtime the next day. Take that first afternoon slowly, stay awake until a normal local bedtime, and you will be on local time by day two. Eastbound is the harder direction for jet lag, which is another argument for putting the city first and the beach second.

Entry requirements for UK travellers

Two different sets of rules apply, and the Bali half catches people out.

Singapore needs no visa for British passport holders. You must complete an electronic SG Arrival Card in the three days before you arrive — it is free, takes a few minutes, and includes a health declaration. Your passport should be valid for at least six months from arrival.

Indonesia does require a visa. British passport holders buy a 30-day Visa on Arrival for 500,000 Indonesian rupiah, payable by cash or card at the airport, extendable once for a further 30 days. Your passport must be valid for at least six months from arrival and have two blank pages, and you will need proof of onward or return travel. There is also an online customs declaration to complete within 72 hours of arriving, and Bali charges a tourist levy of 150,000 rupiah, about £8 per person.

These were the rules at the time of writing. Always check the current position on GOV.UK before you travel, and your travel consultant will confirm the detail when you book.

Frequently asked questions

This twin-centre starts, reduced from £1,280pp, including return flights from London, three nights in Singapore, your Bali stay and ATOL protection. June is the cheapest month and December the most expensive.

Three nights in Singapore and four to seven in Bali. Singapore is compact and rewards a short visit, while Bali is slow to travel around and needs longer. The 10-night version, with seven nights in Bali, is the one most travellers pick.

Singapore first. It is an easy city to arrive in after an overnight flight, and it means you finish the holiday relaxing in Bali rather than ending a beach break with a city stopover. We can reverse the order if you prefer.

Singapore requires no visa for British passport holders, but you must complete a free electronic SG Arrival Card within three days of arriving. Indonesia does require a visa: a 30-day Visa on Arrival costing 500,000 rupiah, bought at the airport. Check GOV.UK for current rules.

London to Singapore is around 13 hours non-stop with British Airways, Singapore Airlines or Qantas. Singapore to Denpasar is a further 2 hours 40. Splitting the journey this way is far more comfortable than flying to Bali in one go.

Bali decides it. Its dry season runs roughly April to October, which is when you want to travel. Singapore is hot and humid year-round so it never dictates timing. May, June and September offer the best balance of good weather and lower prices.

Seminyak suits a first visit, with beach clubs and restaurants within walking distance. Ubud is inland, cooler and greener, better for temples and spas. Nusa Dua is the calm resort strip and the easiest with children. On a 10-night trip, many people split between Ubud and the coast.

It works well because the two halves do different jobs — a few lively days in Singapore, then a long slow stretch in Bali. Private-pool villas in Ubud or Seminyak are the usual upgrade. Tell your consultant it is a honeymoon and we will flag it with the hotels.

Yes. The prices shown are based on London departures, but regional airports are available on request and the supplement is confirmed at enquiry. Tell us your nearest airport when you get in touch.

Singapore and Bali are both UTC+8 and neither uses daylight saving, so there is no time change between the two halves of the trip. Against the UK that is 8 hours ahead in winter and 7 hours ahead during British Summer Time.

Bali, for most people, if the priority is a holiday rather than a city. Singapore is superb but small, and three days covers it comfortably. Choose Singapore alone only if you want a short, easy, very well-organised trip with excellent food and no planning.

It works, but it is tight. Seven nights means three in Singapore and four in Bali, which is enough for one Bali area and no more. If you can stretch to the 10-night version, the extra three nights in Bali are what turn it from a stopover into a proper holiday.

Transfers are not included as standard but we can add them at both ends. Allow 30 to 45 minutes from Denpasar airport to Seminyak or Nusa Dua, and 90 minutes or more to Ubud depending on traffic. After a long-haul flight, a private transfer to Ubud is worth the money.

You can secure your booking with a £99pp deposit, with the balance payable before you travel. Booking early locks in the price shown and gives you more choice of hotel and room type, particularly in the July and August peak.
