The experience

USA in detail

Quick answer

A holiday to the USA costs from £1,949 per person, based on two people sharing. That covers 11 nights and return flights from London. January 2027 is the cheapest departure currently on sale. Secure it with £99pp and pay the balance nearer the time. Every holiday we sell is ATOL 10713 protected.

What does the Las Vegas, LA and Dominican Republic trip include, and what does it cost?

Eleven nights. Three nights in Las Vegas at The LINQ or similar 4★, three in Los Angeles at The Godfrey Hollywood or similar 4★, and five in Punta Cana at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino or similar 5★ on an all-inclusive basis. Return UK flights and the internal flights between all three are included. ATOL protection under licence 10713 applies and a £99 per person deposit holds it. Meals in Vegas and LA, shows, car hire, the ESTA and travel insurance are not included.

How does this compare with our Cancún version?

We run two trips with almost the same shape, and the differences are worth understanding before you choose on price.

Factor This trip — Punta Cana Vegas, LA & Cancún
Nights 11 — three, three and five 12 — three, three and six
Beach Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Cancún, Mexico
Vegas hotel The LINQ or similar, 4★ Caesars Palace or similar, 5★
Entry paperwork ESTA, plus a Dominican E-Ticket ESTA only; Mexico needs no form by air

This one is fifty pounds cheaper and a night shorter, with a 4★ rather than 5★ Vegas base. The Cancún version gives you an extra beach night and a better-known Vegas hotel. Neither is obviously the better buy — it depends whether the Vegas property or the sixth beach night matters more to you.

What you will actually do

In Las Vegas, The LINQ sits centrally on the Strip with the High Roller observation wheel attached to it. Three nights is the right length — Las Vegas is tremendous fun for about seventy-two hours and hard work after that. Beyond the Strip, the Hoover Dam is roughly forty minutes away and the Grand Canyon’s west rim is a long day out.

In Los Angeles, The Godfrey Hollywood puts you near the Walk of Fame and within reach of Griffith Observatory, which is the single best thing to do in LA and free. Three nights covers Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice, and one more day for either the Malibu coast or the museums. Los Angeles is spread out, so transport shapes what those three days can hold.

In Punta Cana, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino sits on the Dominican Republic’s east coast, where the beaches are long, pale and lined with palms. Five all-inclusive nights after six nights of American cities is the point of the trip rather than an afterthought.

When is the best time to go?

January is the cheapest month, and it is also one of the best. The Dominican Republic is in its dry season, Las Vegas is cool enough to walk the Strip comfortably, and Los Angeles is mild. That combination of lowest price and good conditions across all three stops does not happen often.

July is the most expensive and the hardest work — Las Vegas in July regularly exceeds 40°C, which genuinely limits what three nights there can be.

Month Notes
January Cheapest, and good across all three stops
February Similar; Caribbean high season
November Hurricane season ending, desert comfortable
October, December December is busy over the festive period
September Peak hurricane season in the Caribbean
May Warm everywhere, before the rains
June, August Serious desert heat
July Dearest, and the most uncomfortable

Atlantic hurricane season runs 1 June to 30 November, with September and October most active. The Dominican Republic sits within that zone, so travel insurance matters more in those months.

Three stops in eleven nights means two internal moves, and in the United States those are airport days rather than train journeys. Security, bag drop and the drive to the terminal take most of a morning each time, so treat travel days as half days when you plan.

The Dominican leg is the rest. After Las Vegas and Los Angeles, an all-inclusive beach resort is not an anticlimax — it is what makes the first two thirds of the trip survivable, and it is the right way round.

What changes your price?

  • The month. January at its cheapest against July at its dearest across the same eleven nights.
  • How the nights split. Three, three and five is standard; more beach and less city usually costs less to run.
  • Departure airport. Priced from the UK, with the routing and any regional supplement confirmed at enquiry.
  • Room grade. All three properties are as named or similar; suites in Vegas and swim-up or ocean-view categories in Punta Cana are quoted individually.
  • What you spend in the cities. Six nights across Vegas and LA is the largest uncontrolled cost, before shows or car hire.

Who this holiday suits

  • Couples and friends who want a loud start and a quiet finish.
  • Anyone who wants Las Vegas but would find a week there too much.
  • Travellers who want the last third of the trip to cost nothing extra.
  • First-time visitors to the American west who also want a Caribbean beach.
  • People happy to move twice in eleven nights for three genuinely different places.

Who might prefer something else

  • Want a road trip? This is three fixed bases connected by flights, not a drive.
  • If Las Vegas does not appeal, three of eleven nights is a significant share and there is no version without it.
  • Want everything included? Six of the eleven nights are not, in two expensive cities.
  • Prefer a longer beach? Our Vegas, LA and Cancún trip gives six nights rather than five for £1,999.
  • If July or August are fixed, that is peak price and extreme desert heat together.
  • Still weighing it up? Compare this against every one of our multi-centre holidays.
  • If this is nearly right, look at our 7 Nights New York & Barbados Twin Centre too before you decide.

Ways to upgrade

All quoted at enquiry against your dates.

  • A suite or higher tower in Las Vegas, or a different Strip property
  • A Santa Monica or beachside base in Los Angeles rather than Hollywood
  • Swim-up, ocean-view or suite categories in Punta Cana
  • Car hire in Los Angeles, which changes what three nights can cover
  • Grand Canyon or Hoover Dam trips booked in advance
  • Extra nights in Punta Cana, or a fourth stop such as San Francisco

What is not included?

  • Meals and drinks in Las Vegas and Los Angeles — only the Punta Cana leg is all inclusive.
  • Shows and entertainment in Vegas, which is much of the reason to be there.
  • Car hire in Los Angeles, plus fuel and parking.
  • The ESTA, $40.27 per person including children, required before you fly.
  • The Dominican E-Ticket, which is free but must be completed online before arrival and again before departure.
  • Excursions and anything outside the all-inclusive list in Punta Cana.
  • Travel insurance, which matters both for US healthcare costs and for hurricane season.

Getting there and getting between

Return UK flights and the internal flights between Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Punta Cana are all on the same booking. Las Vegas is around ten and a half hours from the UK, Vegas to LA about an hour, and LA to Punta Cana a long day with a connection. Nevada and California run eight hours behind the UK; the Dominican Republic is five behind.

The Strip is walkable if you accept that everything is further than it looks. Los Angeles is not walkable in any meaningful sense. Punta Cana’s airport transfer is short, which is a genuine advantage after a long travel day.

Entry requirements for UK travellers

Checked against GOV.UK foreign travel advice on 17 September 2026. We re-confirm before you travel.

United States: an ESTA is required before you fly, costing $40.27 and valid two years. Every traveller needs their own, including children, and it applies to transit as well as entry.

Dominican Republic: no visa, but the limit is 30 days rather than the 90 most Caribbean islands allow — comfortably beyond this trip, but shorter than people assume. An E-Ticket is mandatory: a combined customs declaration and entry form completed online up to seven days before you arrive, which produces a QR code for check-in and the border. You need it in both directions.

On passports, GOV.UK currently states that until 31 December 2026 a British passport need only remain valid for the duration of your visit. That end date is explicit in the advice, so if you are travelling in 2027 the position may differ and we will confirm it for your dates.

Booking and protection

Your booking is covered by our ATOL licence 10713 and we hold IATA accreditation 91285611. It is held with a deposit of £99 per person, with the balance due before travel.

Prices are per person, based on two people sharing. Four flight sectors have to line up, so availability tightens sooner than on a single-destination holiday. January is both the cheapest month and the best across all three stops, which is why those dates move first.

Frequently asked questions

From £1,949 per person for eleven nights, reduced from £2,490, including return UK flights, the internal flights between all three stops, and hotels with the five Punta Cana nights all inclusive. January is the cheapest month and July the dearest.

This one is fifty pounds cheaper and a night shorter at eleven, with a 4★ Vegas hotel. The Cancún version is £1,999 for twelve nights with a 5★ Vegas base and an extra beach night. Neither is obviously better — it depends whether the hotel or the extra night matters more to you.

It is the right length. Las Vegas is tremendous fun for about seventy-two hours and hard work after that, and most people who book longer wish they had not. Three nights gives you the Strip on foot, a show, and a day trip to the Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon if you want one.

Yes, and it is mandatory in both directions. It is a combined customs declaration and entry form completed online up to seven days before you arrive, producing a QR code you show at check-in and the border. It is free, but it is your responsibility rather than something we can file for you.

Thirty days for tourism, which is shorter than the 90 days most Caribbean islands allow — comfortably beyond this trip, but worth knowing if you were thinking of extending. Stays can be extended up to 120 days by applying to the Immigration Service once you are there.

GOV.UK currently states that until 31 December 2026 a British passport need only remain valid for the duration of your visit. That end date is explicit in the advice, so for 2027 travel the position may change. We confirm the current requirement for your specific dates before you travel.

Yes, before you fly, and every traveller needs their own including children. It costs $40.27, lasts two years and covers stays of up to 90 days. It applies to transit as well as entry. If you are reusing one from a previous trip, check it is still valid — the fee rose from $21.

January, per person, and unusually it is also one of the best months. The Dominican Republic is in its dry season, Las Vegas is cool enough to walk the Strip comfortably, and Los Angeles is mild. Lowest price and good conditions across all three stops rarely coincide.

In July and August, regularly past 40°C, which genuinely limits what three nights there can be — walking the Strip in the middle of the day stops being realistic. Those months are also the most expensive, so there is little to recommend them.

Atlantic hurricane season runs 1 June to 30 November, with September and October most active, and the Dominican Republic sits within that zone. September is higher again here rather than the January £1,949, so the pricing reflects it. It is an argument for good travel insurance rather than avoidance.

Yes, all of them, on the same booking as your return UK flights. Las Vegas to Los Angeles is about an hour; Los Angeles to Punta Cana is a long day with a connection. Having four sectors on one contract means a delay anywhere is ours to re-arrange rather than yours to solve.

The LINQ or similar 4★ on the Las Vegas Strip, The Godfrey Hollywood or similar 4★ in Los Angeles, and the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino or similar 5★ in Punta Cana, all inclusive. Only the Punta Cana leg is all inclusive; the two city legs are not, and both are expensive.

It is not included and most people take one, because Los Angeles is not walkable in any meaningful sense and three nights without transport covers very little. Ride-hailing works for a short stay and can be cheaper. We can arrange car hire as part of your booking.

The Godfrey Hollywood is near the Walk of Fame and within reach of Griffith Observatory, which is the best thing to do in LA and free. Three nights covers Hollywood, Santa Monica and Venice, with one more day for either the Malibu coast or the museums. Transport shapes how much fits.

The Dominican Republic's east coast, with long pale beaches lined with palms and a strip of large all-inclusive resorts. It is a resort coast rather than a town, which is the point of it here — five nights of not making decisions after six nights of American cities.

Yes. Three, three and five is standard, and shifting nights from the cities to Punta Cana is priced on request — it usually costs less to run and, for a good number of people, makes a better holiday. Tell us the split you want and we will quote it against your dates.

Six nights of meals and drinks across Las Vegas and Los Angeles, both expensive; shows in Vegas; car hire in LA; excursions; and the ESTA for every traveller. The Punta Cana half is the only part where the cost is already settled, which is much of its appeal.

The west rim is a long day trip and is the version most visitors do from Vegas. The Hoover Dam is much closer at around forty minutes. Neither is included, and both are better booked in advance than arranged once you arrive, particularly in the busier months.

Ninety-nine pounds per person, with the balance due before travel. The holiday is ATOL 10713 protected and we hold IATA accreditation 91285611. Prices are per person, based on two people sharing.

Yes — San Francisco is the one most often added to this routing and fits naturally before Las Vegas. It adds a sector and usually two or three nights. Extra nights in Punta Cana are the other common change and are generally the cheaper way to lengthen the trip.

It is one of the better ones we sell for that. Las Vegas and Los Angeles both work well for groups, and an all-inclusive finish in Punta Cana removes the arguments about splitting bills. Room configurations for three or four sharing are quoted on request.

Earlier than for a single-destination holiday, because four flight sectors have to align. January is both the cheapest month and the best across all three stops, so those dates move first, and Caribbean high season in February follows close behind.
