The experience

USA in detail

Quick answer

A holiday to the USA costs from £2,029 per person, based on two people sharing. That covers 12 nights, all-inclusive and return flights from London. October 2026 is the cheapest departure currently on sale. Secure it with £99pp and pay the balance nearer the time. Every holiday we sell is ATOL 10713 protected.

What does the Las Vegas, LA and Cancún trip include, and what does it cost?

Twelve nights. Three nights in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace or similar 5★, three in Los Angeles at The Line LA or similar 4★, and six in Cancún at Excellence Playa Mujeres or similar 5★ on an all-inclusive basis. Return UK flights and the internal flights between all three are included. ATOL protection under licence 10713 applies and a £99 per person deposit holds it. Meals in Vegas and LA, show tickets, car hire, the ESTA and travel insurance are not included. What you pay depends on your travel dates, how many nights you want and which UK airport you fly from.

Why does this itinerary end in Mexico?

Because six nights of Vegas and LA is genuinely tiring, and because the last third of the trip is the only part where you stop paying for things.

Stop Nights What it is for What it costs you
Las Vegas 3 The Strip, shows, the desert on your doorstep Meals, shows and everything else
Los Angeles 3 Beaches, Hollywood, the drive along the coast Meals, and probably car hire
Cancún 6 Stopping completely Nothing — this leg is all inclusive

Three nights is exactly right for Las Vegas. It is a city that is enormous fun for about seventy-two hours and exhausting after that, and almost everyone who books four wishes they had booked three. Los Angeles at three nights is a taste rather than a tour, which suits it — LA is a place you dip into rather than complete.

Then six nights in Cancún where meals, drinks and the resort are covered. After six nights of American prices that shift is more noticeable than it sounds on paper.

What you will actually do

In Las Vegas, Caesars Palace puts you in the middle of the Strip, which is where you want to be for three nights — everything is walkable in theory and further than it looks in practice. Beyond the casinos and the shows, the Hoover Dam is around forty minutes away and the Grand Canyon’s west rim is a long day trip. The Strip itself is worth one full evening on foot.

In Los Angeles, The Line sits in Koreatown, which is central and a genuinely good place to eat. Three nights realistically covers Santa Monica and Venice, one day for Hollywood and Griffith Observatory, and one for either the beaches north towards Malibu or the museums. LA is spread out, so a hire car changes what three nights can hold.

In Cancún, Excellence Playa Mujeres sits north of the main Hotel Zone, which is quieter than the strip most people picture. Six all-inclusive nights is enough to do nothing at all, or to fit in Chichén Itzá, Tulum and a cenote day and still have most of the week on the beach.

When is the best time to go?

September is the cheapest month, and it is a trade. Las Vegas and LA are still very warm, and September sits in the most active part of the Atlantic hurricane season for the Yucatán. The saving is real and so is the reason for it.

July is the most expensive — school holidays, plus Las Vegas at its most brutal. Temperatures on the Strip in July regularly pass 40°C, which changes what three nights there feels like.

Month Notes
September Cheapest; peak hurricane season in Mexico
October Season easing, still hot in Nevada
November Arguably the best month of the year for this route
May, January Mild in the desert, dry in Mexico
February Cool in Vegas, high season in Cancún
June, December December is festive and busy
August Extreme desert heat
July Dearest, and the hardest work in Vegas

November is the month we would point most people towards: the desert is comfortable, LA is warm, hurricane season is ending and the price is well below peak.

What changes your price?

  • The month. September at its cheapest against July at its dearest across the same twelve nights.
  • How the nights split. Three, three and six is standard. More nights in Cancún and fewer in the cities usually costs less and, for many people, makes a better holiday.
  • Departure airport. Priced from the UK, with the routing and any regional supplement confirmed at enquiry.
  • Room grade. All three properties are as named or similar; suites in Vegas and swim-up or ocean-view categories in Cancún are quoted individually.
  • What you spend in the cities. Six nights across Vegas and LA is the largest uncontrolled cost, and shows and car hire sit on top of it.

Who this holiday suits

  • Couples who want a high-energy start and a genuinely restful finish.
  • Anyone who wants Las Vegas but not for a week.
  • Travellers who want the last half of the holiday to cost nothing extra.
  • First-time visitors to the American west who also want a beach.
  • People happy to move twice in twelve nights for three very different places.

Who might prefer something else

  • Want a road trip? This is three fixed bases with flights between them, not a drive. A dedicated west-coast itinerary would serve you better.
  • If Las Vegas is not for you, three nights is a meaningful chunk of the trip and there is no version of this without it.
  • Prefer everything included? Six of the twelve nights are not, in two expensive cities.
  • If your dates are fixed to July or August, desert heat at those levels is genuinely limiting, not just uncomfortable.
  • For a quieter Caribbean, Cancún is Mexico’s resort coast. Our Miami and St Lucia trip is a different character entirely.
  • Not sure this is the one? Browse our other all-inclusive holidays and tell us what appeals.
  • Worth comparing against our 10 Nights New York & Cancún All-Inclusive Escape, which covers similar ground.

Ways to upgrade

All quoted at enquiry against your dates.

  • A suite or higher tower at Caesars Palace
  • A beachside Los Angeles hotel in Santa Monica rather than Koreatown
  • Swim-up, ocean-view or suite categories in Cancún
  • Car hire in Los Angeles, which changes what three nights can cover
  • Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Chichén Itzá or cenote trips booked in advance
  • Extra nights in Cancún, or a fourth stop such as San Francisco

What is not included?

Six of the twelve nights are in two of the more expensive cities in the United States, so the gap between the package price and the total is wider here than on a single-destination holiday.

  • Meals and drinks in Las Vegas and Los Angeles. Only the Cancún leg is all inclusive.
  • Shows and entertainment in Vegas, which is most of the reason to be there for three nights.
  • Car hire in Los Angeles, plus fuel and parking, which in LA is rarely free.
  • Excursions — the Grand Canyon, Hoover Dam, Chichén Itzá, Tulum and the cenotes are all separate.
  • The ESTA, $40.27 per person including children, required before you fly.
  • Travel insurance, which matters twice over here: US healthcare costs without it, and Atlantic hurricane season runs June to November over the Cancún leg.

Getting there and getting between

Return UK flights and the internal flights between Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Cancún are all on the same booking. Las Vegas is around ten and a half hours from the UK; Vegas to LA is a short hop of about an hour; LA to Cancún is roughly five hours. The west coast runs eight hours behind the UK, Cancún six.

On the ground, the Las Vegas Strip is walkable if you accept that everything is further than it looks. Los Angeles is not walkable in any meaningful sense — a hire car or ride-hailing is how you cover it. Cancún’s airport transfer to Playa Mujeres takes around forty-five minutes.

Entry requirements for UK travellers

Checked against GOV.UK foreign travel advice on 17 September 2026. We re-confirm before you travel.

United States: an ESTA is required before you fly, costing $40.27 and valid two years for stays of up to 90 days. Every traveller needs their own, including children, and it applies to transit as well as entry.

Mexico: no visa, with an entry stamp allowing up to 180 days. The online immigration form applies to land entry only, so flying into Cancún from Los Angeles does not require one. Border control may ask for a return ticket, proof of accommodation and evidence of funds.

Booking and protection

Your booking is covered by our ATOL licence 10713 and we hold IATA accreditation 91285611. It is held with a deposit of £99 per person, with the balance due before travel.

Prices are per person, based on two people sharing. Four flight sectors have to line up on this trip, so availability tightens sooner than on a single-destination holiday. Want the best of it? November is the month worth asking about first.

Frequently asked questions

From £1,999 per person for twelve nights, reduced from £2,560, including return UK flights, the internal flights between all three, and hotels with the six Cancún nights all inclusive. September is the cheapest month and July the dearest.

It is exactly right. Las Vegas is enormous fun for about seventy-two hours and exhausting after that, and almost everyone who books four nights wishes they had booked three. Three gives you the Strip on foot, a show, and a day trip to the Hoover Dam or the Grand Canyon if you want one.

Because six nights of Las Vegas and Los Angeles is genuinely tiring, and because Cancún is the only leg where you stop paying for things. After six nights of American prices, arriving somewhere all inclusive is more noticeable than it sounds on paper. Ending on the cities would send you home shattered.

Yes, all of them, on the same booking as your return UK flights. Las Vegas to Los Angeles is about an hour, and Los Angeles to Cancún roughly five. Having four sectors on one contract means a delay anywhere is ours to re-arrange rather than something you solve at a US airport.

Three nights at Caesars Palace or similar 5★ in Las Vegas, three at The Line LA or similar 4★ in Los Angeles, and six at Excellence Playa Mujeres or similar 5★ in Cancún, all inclusive. Only the Cancún leg is all inclusive; the two city legs are not, and both are expensive places to eat.

September, per person, and it is a genuine trade. Las Vegas and Los Angeles are still very warm, and September sits in the most active part of the Atlantic hurricane season for the Yucatán. The saving is real and so is the reason behind it.

November, which we would point most people towards. The desert is comfortable rather than punishing, Los Angeles is warm, hurricane season is ending in Mexico and the price sits well below the July peak.

In July and August, regularly past 40°C, which changes what three nights there actually feels like — walking the Strip in the middle of the day stops being realistic. Those are also the two most expensive months, so there is little argument for them.

It is not included and most people take one, because Los Angeles is not walkable in any meaningful sense and three nights without transport covers very little. Ride-hailing works too and can be cheaper for a short stay. We can arrange car hire as part of the booking.

Yes, before you fly, and every traveller needs their own including children. It costs $40.27, lasts two years and covers stays of up to 90 days. It applies to transit as well as entry. Check any existing authorisation rather than assuming it is current — the fee rose from $21.

No. You get an entry stamp allowing up to 180 days. The online immigration form applies to land entry only, so flying into Cancún from Los Angeles does not need one. Border control may ask for a return ticket, proof of accommodation and evidence of funds.

Atlantic hurricane season runs from 1 June to 30 November, with September and October the most active for the Yucatán. September is also this trip's cheapest month, so the two facts are directly connected. It is an argument for good travel insurance rather than for avoiding the dates.

Yes. Three, three and six is standard, and shifting nights from the cities to Cancún is priced on request — it usually costs less and, for a good number of people, makes a better holiday. Tell us the split you want and we will quote it against your dates.

Excellence Playa Mujeres or similar, north of the main Hotel Zone, which is noticeably quieter than the resort strip most people picture when they think of Cancún. The airport transfer takes around forty-five minutes. Alternative resorts in the Hotel Zone or the Riviera Maya can be quoted.

The west rim is a long day trip from Las Vegas and is the version most visitors do from there. The Hoover Dam is much closer, around forty minutes. Neither is included in the package, and both are worth booking in advance rather than arranging once you arrive.

It is a taste rather than a tour, which suits LA — it is a city you dip into rather than complete. Three nights covers Santa Monica and Venice, a day for Hollywood and Griffith Observatory, and one for either the Malibu coast or the museums. A car makes a real difference to that.

Chichén Itzá, Tulum and the cenotes are all day trips, and Isla Mujeres is a short ferry away. Six all-inclusive nights is enough to fit two or three of those in and still have most of the week on the beach — or to do none of them, which is equally valid after six nights of cities.

Six nights of meals and drinks across Las Vegas and Los Angeles, which are both expensive; shows in Vegas; car hire in LA; excursions in Mexico; and the ESTA for every traveller. The Cancún half is the only part of the trip where the cost is already settled.

That trip is £1,899 per person, family-focused, with theme parks and four all-inclusive nights. This one is £1,999, aimed at couples, with Las Vegas and Los Angeles and six all-inclusive nights. Both are twelve nights across three stops; the difference is who they are for.

Ninety-nine pounds per person, with the balance due before travel. The holiday is ATOL 10713 protected and we hold IATA accreditation 91285611. Prices are per person, based on two people sharing.

Yes — San Francisco is the one most often added to this routing and fits naturally before or after Los Angeles. It adds a sector and usually two or three nights. Extra nights in Cancún are the other common change and are generally the cheaper way to lengthen the trip.

Earlier than for a single-destination holiday, because four flight sectors have to align. November — the month we would recommend — sells well, and the July and August dates go early on school-holiday demand despite being both the most expensive and the least comfortable.
