What does the Miami and St Lucia trip include, and what does it cost?
Ten nights. Three nights at the Loews Miami Beach 4★ and seven at Serenity at Coconut Bay in St Lucia, a 5★ property on an all-inclusive basis, with return UK flights and the internal flight from Miami to St Lucia included. ATOL protection under licence 10713 applies and a £99 per person deposit holds it. Meals in Miami, excursions, the ESTA and travel insurance are not included. It is the most scenic of our city-and-Caribbean pairings, because St Lucia is a mountain island rather than a beach strip.
St Lucia or Cancún for the beach half?
We sell both shapes, and the islands are nothing alike.
St Lucia costs more and earns it if landscape matters to you. Cancún is the better value and the easier island. The city halves differ just as much: Miami is a beach city where you will want sun, and New York is a walking city where you will not.
What you will actually do
In Miami, three nights on South Beach. The Loews sits on Collins Avenue, so the sand is behind the hotel and Ocean Drive’s art deco strip is a short walk. Two full days covers the beach, the Art Deco Historic District, and one evening in Little Havana or Wynwood for food and murals that are genuinely worth crossing the causeway for.
In St Lucia, the island is the point. The Pitons — two volcanic spires rising straight out of the sea near Soufrière — are what people come for, and they are visible from much of the south-west coast. Beyond them there is rainforest hiking, the drive-in sulphur springs at Soufrière, and small fishing villages that feel a long way from a resort. Serenity at Coconut Bay sits on the south-east coast at Vieux Fort, near the international airport, which keeps the transfer short.
When is the best time to go?
September is the cheapest month, and it is cheap for a reason. September and October are the wettest and most active part of the Atlantic hurricane season, which runs from 1 June to 30 November. That is not a reason to rule it out — it is a reason to hold proper travel insurance and to know what you are buying.
July is the most expensive driven by the UK school holidays rather than by weather. February is Caribbean high season and when the island is at its most reliable — the month to pick if conditions matter more than cost.
What changes your price?
- The month. September at its cheapest against July at its dearest on the same ten nights.
- How the nights split. Three and seven is standard; four in Miami and six in St Lucia is priced on request.
- Room grade. Both properties are as named or similar; ocean views, swim-up rooms and suite categories in St Lucia are quoted individually.
- Departure airport. Priced from the UK, with the exact routing and any regional supplement confirmed at enquiry.
- What you spend in Miami. The Miami leg is room only and South Beach is not a cheap place to eat.
Who this holiday suits
- Couples and honeymooners who want dramatic landscape rather than a flat beach.
- Travellers who like the idea of a city start but want it warm rather than walking-intensive.
- Anyone who would find ten nights in one resort too long.
- People who want the majority of the trip paid for up front — seven of ten nights are all inclusive.
- Walkers and hikers, because St Lucia is one of the few Caribbean islands that rewards both.
Who might prefer something else
- Prefer a big cultural city? Miami is a beach city. New York and Cancún per person gives you museums and Broadway instead.
- If the budget is tight, this is the more expensive of our two city-and-Caribbean pairings.
- If flat, calm, swimmable water is the priority, St Lucia’s coastline is dramatic rather than sheltered throughout.
- If September is your only option, understand that the saving comes with hurricane season attached.
- If you dislike internal flights, this adds one to the transatlantic legs.
- If none of these is quite right, start from our wider selection of all-inclusive holidays.
- Worth comparing against our 10 Nights New York & Cancún All-Inclusive Escape, which covers similar ground.
Ways to upgrade
All quoted at enquiry against your dates.
- Ocean-view, swim-up or suite categories in St Lucia
- A Piton-view property on the west coast near Soufrière instead
- An adults-only section or resort
- A four-night Miami leg rather than three
- Pitons hiking, sulphur springs or catamaran trips booked in advance
- Extra nights at either end
Getting there
Return UK flights and the internal flight from Miami to St Lucia are on the same booking. Miami is around nine hours from the UK; the hop to St Lucia is roughly three and a half.
Serenity at Coconut Bay is at Vieux Fort in the south-east, close to Hewanorra International, so the arrival transfer is short — a genuine advantage on this island, where resorts on the north-west coast can be well over an hour from the airport after a long day of flying.
Entry requirements for UK travellers
Checked against GOV.UK foreign travel advice on 17 September 2026. We re-confirm before you travel.
United States: an ESTA is required before you fly, costing $40.27 and valid two years. It applies to transit as well as entry, so it is needed even if you only change planes in the US on the way home. The fee rose from $21, so check any existing authorisation rather than assuming it still works.
St Lucia: no visa, but note the limit is a maximum of six weeks rather than the 90 days most Caribbean islands allow — shorter than people assume, though comfortably beyond this trip. An online immigration form must be completed no more than three days before you arrive. Your passport needs an expiry date after the day you plan to leave; no extra months are required.
What is not included?
- Everything you eat and drink in Miami. That leg is room only and South Beach prices accordingly.
- The ESTA, $40.27 per person, required before you fly and covering transit as well as entry.
- Excursions in St Lucia — the Pitons, the sulphur springs and catamaran trips are all extra, arranged in advance through us or locally.
- Premium spirits and à la carte dining at some all-inclusive resorts; we confirm in writing what your property covers.
- Travel insurance, which matters more than usual between June and November.
- Resort tips and any local tourism tax, settled at the hotel.
How many nights, and where should they go?
Ten nights split three and seven is how this is sold, and the split is deliberate rather than arbitrary.
Three nights in Miami is two full days. That is enough for the beach, the Art Deco Historic District and one evening across the causeway. Miami is a city you experience rather than tour — there is no equivalent of spending a day in a great museum — so a longer stay adds beach time you could have in St Lucia for less.
Seven nights in St Lucia is where the holiday actually happens. After a transatlantic flight and an internal hop, five clear days is the minimum that feels restful, and St Lucia has enough beyond the resort — the Pitons, the rainforest, Soufrière — that a week does not run out.
If you have twelve nights rather than ten, add them to St Lucia rather than Miami. If you only have a week, this is the wrong trip and a single-centre Caribbean stay is the better use of it.
Booking and protection
Your booking is covered by our ATOL licence 10713 and we hold IATA accreditation 91285611. It is held with a deposit of £99 per person, with the balance due before travel.
Prices are per person, based on two people sharing. Because the internal flight sits on the same booking as your transatlantic ones, a delay into Miami is ours to re-arrange rather than something you solve at the airport with a St Lucian resort waiting.
