The Maldives is a year-round destination, but the holiday you’ll have depends enormously on when you book. Here’s how to time it right.
The short answer
For the most reliable weather, travel between November and April — clear skies, calm seas and very little rain. This is peak season and prices follow, especially over Christmas and Easter. For the best value, look at May to October: lower prices, quieter islands and the occasional short shower that usually passes within the hour.
Best for diving
The green season’s plankton blooms draw manta rays and whale sharks to Baa and Ari atolls, while the dry season offers the clearest visibility for reef diving.
Our tip
If your dates are flexible, late April and early November sit on the shoulder of peak season — near-perfect weather without the peak price tag.
